Over 50 people have been reported dead after a TransAsia Airways passenger plane crashed on one of Taiwan’s Penghu islands today Wednesday July 23rd.
According to Taiwan’s Central News Agency, at least 9 other people were injured in the crash of the twin-engine turboprop plane, which happened outside Magong airport at about 7 p.m local time.
The cause of the crash wasn’t immediately known but the region is currently dealing with powerful typhoon.
