Abia state born music star and philanthropist Waconzy recently released a single titled Ekpo and during the official release party for the song, he taught his fans “how to do the Ekpoh dance”.

As a result of the acceptance, Waconzy and his Dv8 Media team has decided to positively impact the society by giving away $5,000 dollars ($1000 each)  to five lucky fans who can perform the perfect ‘Ekpoh Dance’.

The word ‘Ekpoh’ means masquerade in Igbo language and the motive behind the dance is to let your enemies know that you can’t see them that’s why you have to cover your face while dancing.

Native Doctor Confesses To Burying Custom Officer And Her 10-Year-Old Daughter Alive

The Lagos State Police Command on Monday paraded a 64-year-old native doctor, Alhaji Olatunji Azeez, who confessed to killing a retired customs officer, Mrs. Angela Kerry, and her 10-year-old adopted daughter, Obiagulum, on May 10, 2014.

The decomposed bodies of the woman and her daughter were found in Azeez’s house in Ire Akari Crescent, Ajuwon Akute, Ogun State by operatives of the Lagos State Special Anti-Robbery Squad. The police subsequently marked the building as a kidnapper’s.

Nigeria security forces have arrested a suspect in connection with the bomb blast that happened this afternoon at the School of Hygiene, BUK Road in Kano at least eight people lost their lives with 12 others sustaining various degrees of injury.

Confirming the arrest, Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adenrele Shinaba said investigations will begin immediately

Sudanese Meriam Ibrahim, Sentenced To Death For Converting To Christianity, Has Been Freed

Meriam Ibrahim, the Sudanese woman who was sentenced to death last month for converting from Islam to Christianity has been freed.

27-year old Meriam gathered international attention following the original judgement, as she was locked up and had to give birth in prison.

‘The appeal court ordered the release of Mariam Yahya and the cancellation of the (previous) court ruling,’ Sudan’s SUNA news agency said. The couple’s 20-month-old son was also held in prison with Ms Ibrahim and her newborn daughter.

After international pressure a government official said on May 31 that Sudanese officials were working to release her.

She was only finally freed this afternoon.

Ms Ibrahim’s lawyer Mohaned Mostafa said after her release she had been sent ‘to an unknown house to stay at for her protection and security.’

‘Her family had been threatened before and we are worried that someone might try to harm her,’ he said.

Kanye West To Teach At Fashion College as Community Service

Kanye West is gonna be Professor West for the next few weeks after he agreed to teach at a fashion college for his community service.

The Yeezus singer cut a plea deal earlier this year to avoid jail after being charged with criminal battery and attempted grand theft after allegedly attacking a photographer.

Kanye agreed to 24 months informal probation and 250 hours community service as punishment for the attack last summer in Los Angeles, but the 35-year-old has managed to avoid the highway clean up jobs that are typically associated with community service, and is carrying out his hours in a subject much closer to home.

‘He’s kicking off his community service in fashionable form -teaching at a fashion school,’ TMZ reported. The outlet added that the Stronger performer has visited the L.A. Trade Technical College three times in the last six weeks.

The institute specialises in designing apparel, and as a fashion designer himself, Kanye is able to share his experience with the students.

Defence HQ, in an official press release today, reports that Husaini who leads a cell of the terrorists billed to operate in the Plateau is known to have led an attack on Headquarters, Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Abuja in November 2012. He also led the attack on military convoy moving from Lokoja to Kaduna where 2 soldiers were killed in January 2013.

American singer and actress, Beyoncé  has reportedly donated $125,000 to help save the lives of premature babies in developing countries. The ‘Partition’ singer announced her donation at an anniversary party for Gucci’s Chime for Change charity, which raises awareness for education and health for young girls in other developing nations.

The mother-of-one said she chose to help out  Embrace Innovations charity, an organisation which distributes ingenious infant warmers to babies born in poverty.The baby warmer is a lower cost alternative to a traditional incubator and looks like a tiny sleeping bag. With her donation, the company will now fund pilot testing of the device in countries like Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania and Uganda. Her aid will assist an estimated 2,000 babies!

Six Nigerians Arrested In Ghana For Forging President’s Signature

Six Nigerians have been arrested in Ghana for forging documents with signatures of public offices, including the President and Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The suspects are Osamudiamwen Ekechuku Emeka, 24, Adebayor Alaba Sa-ed, 21, Prince Ejine, 19, Charles Chinedu, 32, Wallace Darden Odon, 28 and Paul Kelvin, 20.

Documents bearing forged signatures of state officers and six state institutions including that of the Office of the President, Ghana Police Service, the High Court, VAT Service and others were some of the things retrieved.

In addition, the police also retrieved eight of their laptops which they used in transacting their business.

Police Officer In Anambra Slumps After Hearing He Has Been Transferred To Borno

A police officer in Nnewi, Anambra state, reportedly slumped after he received news that he had been transferred to Borno.

According to ThisDay, tthe officer had less than a year left to retire from the service, and was among the 149 officers affected by the postings to different parts of the country.

The officer, however, was said to have been revived by doctors and other medical personnel at a private hospital in Nnewi where he was rushed to after he slumped.

Scenes of that night in Soccer city were far away from the minds of Van Persie and Robben as they rose to the occasion and thrashed the world champions in the opening game of group B of the FIFA world cup following a master class performance by the Orange in the second half. It looked like it was gonna be business as usual for La Furia Roja when Vlaar brought down Diego Costa in the box in the 27 minute and Alonso sent the ball down the middle from the spot and Spain led one-nil. The Netherlands however replied before half time as Van Persie met Blind’s diagonal ball with a beautiful diving haeder to equalize. In the 52nd minute, Blind hit another diagonal ball for Robben who danced round Pique befor sending Casillas the wrong way. A few minutes later, Van Persie’s right footed drive cannoned off the crossbar before a free kick from Sneijder found its way to the back post and De Vrij was on hand to turn the ball in after a scramble. In the 67th minute, Spain had a goal disallowed as Silva was rightfully judged to have been offside whenhe turned in a rebound from Costa’s initial header. Van Persie added his second of the game as Casillas mis-controled a back pass and left the Dutchman with the simple task of tapping the ball into an empty net. in the 80th minute, Robben outpaced Ramos to get to Sneijder’s pass and round Casillas before netting his second of the game. Robben also had a shot cannon off the crossbar in the 85th minute as Spain seemed incapable of coping with the pace and urgency of the Dutch in the second half.
