5yr old girl sustains horrific injuries after being allegedly attacked in school

 

5 year old AvaLynn was nearly disfigured when she was allegedly attacked by another pupil at her Elementary school in Mississippi this week. The most bizarre thing about this story is that the school is maintaining that she was not attacked, rather she got the horrific injuries in an accident while playing on the playground. Makes no sense. This looks more like a vicious attack to me.

Her mother and other relatives have opened a Facebook page for the young girl to tell what happened to her and share photos of her injuries, while seeking for justice. Below is what they wrote on the Facebook page about the incident...

"On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, Lacey Harris was called go come pick up her daughter at Arlington Elementary School in Pascagoula, Mississippi, because AvaLynn had been injured in an accident. The sight Lacey found when she got to Ava's school was a parents' nightmare: her face swollen, cut, and bruised beyond recognition." Continue...

Sister Of Dead Ebola Doctor Escapes from Port Harcourt

SaharaReporters has learned that a sister of a Port Harcourt-based medical doctor, Iyke Enemuo, who recently died from the Ebola virus, fled to Abia State to avoid being quarantined along with others who came into contact with the late doctor. However, one of her siblings, who is also a doctor, forced her to return to the quarantine center in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.

Late Dr Adadevoh's younger sister reportedly tests positive to Ebola

 

 According to Sahara Reporters, the younger sister of late Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh who died of Ebola on Tuesday August 19th has been confirmed to have Ebola and has been hospitalized. The report below..

SaharaReporters has learned today that Amy Ngozi Adadevoh, younger sister of the late Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh, has reportedly tested positive for the Ebola virus.

Miss Adadevoh had previously been a suspected case, a suspicion confirmed today by blood test. She has been moved to isolation at the Ebola treatment center in Lagos. She joins two other patients there undergoing evaluation and treatment.

Ebola: Liberian doctor dies despite taking Zmapp

The National Deputy Chief Medical Doctor in Liberia, Abraham Borbor, has died from the Ebola virus disease despite taking the experimental drug, ZMapp. Late Dr. Borbor contracted the deadly virus while attending to Ebola patients at the John F. Kennedy Medical Centre in Monrovia.

Liberia's Minister of Information Lewis Brown announced his death to reporters in Monrovia this morning and said the late doctor was improving as at yesterday August 24th but suddenly took ill and died.

Boko Haram recaptures Gamboru-Ngala, disarms 480 Nigerian soldiers

 

 Boko Haram men today launched an attack on Gamboru-Ngala village in Borno state, displacing many of the villagers and disarming about 480 Nigerian soldiers stationed at the Cameroon-Nigeria border.

According to reports, the attack started around 5.30 this morning in the army barracks in Ngala known as Harmony Camp before proceeding to Gamboru where they took over the town without any military resistance. The insurgents reportedly embarked on a house-to-house raid in Gamboru.

Cameroonian Army spokesman, Lt Col Didier Badjek, who confirmed that soldiers have been disarmed said they are now being accommodated in schools. Residents of Gamboru-Ngala village are said to have taken refuge in Fotokol town in Cameroon.

Chris Brown 'shot at', Suge Knight 'injured' during LA nightclub party

According to a breaking news report on Daily Mail and TMZ, singer Chris Brown was 'shot at' in the early hours of this morning at a pre-VMAs party at 10AK night club in LA. Chris, who was hosting the party, was not injured but music label boss Suge Knight was shot twice. Two others were injured, one of them said to be in critical condition.

According to Daily Mail, witnesses at the scene claimed that Chris Brown was the target of the shooting, but TMZ said they weren't so sure who the target was.

Model Tyson Beckford, and Black Eyed Peas member Apple de Ap, who were inside the party said they heard four gun shots.

Nigerians doctors finally suspend strike after 65 days

After 65 days, the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, has suspended its strike. They made the announcement on their official twitter handle yesterday, and today, NMA president, Kayode Obembe, told journalists that the association decided to suspend the strike because of the Ebola outbreak.

He said all Nigerian doctors are expected to report to work tomorrow Monday August 25th.

23 year old groom, Dmitry Kozhukhov, 23, sparked outrage when he chose to dress as a woman for his wedding ceremony which took place in Moscow. Dmitry, who prefers to be called Alina Davis, describes himself as 'androgyne', someone who is unable fit neatly into either gender role. And he claims to feel more comfortable as a woman, despite still being attracted to females. His bride's real identity is not known, though her first name is Alisa, 19, and she is better known in Moscow by her nickname, Alison Brooks.

Ebola: Lagos Hospital which Treated Patrick Sawyer to Receive N4m

First Consultant Hospital in Obalende, Lagos State, where Nigeria’s first Ebola case was treated will receive N4 million from ANAP foundation.

Nigeria's Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu’s spokesperson, Dan Nwomeh, in a statement said, the founder of the foundation, Atedo Peterside, informed the ministry that all private hospitals affected by the outbreak would receive N100, 000 per bed space. The statement said Mr. Peterside disclosed that First Consultant Hospital would be the first beneficiary of the foundation’s donation. The hospital will receive N4 million since it has 40 bed spaces.

Well 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather Jr. certainly aren’t the best of friends that they used to be.
The world’s highest paid athlete in a recent interview spoke about how Nelly, T.I. & 50 Cent had tagged along with him for publicity, comments that didn’t sit well with Fif.

Five new suspected Ebola cases in Lagos –LASG

As Nigerians continued   to mourn   Dr. Stella   Adadevoh on Wednesday, another sad news broke on Wednesday   that five fresh suspected   cases of Ebola Virus Disease had been reported in Lagos State.

The state Commsioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, who announced this   shortly after the Federal Government gave an indication that it might immortalise Adadevoh, said another Liberian was among the new suspected cases.

Adadevoh, the first confirmed Nigerian to be diagnosed with the EVD , died on Tuesday evening.

She contracted the   disease while treating the index case, Mr, Patrick Sawyer, at the First Consultants Medical Centre, Lagos where she served as the Lead Consultant.

Kent Brantly US doctor who survived Ebola speaks, leaves hospital

 

 Dr. Kent Brantly, the US doctor cured of Ebola left the Emory University Hospital Atlanta about an hour ago. Before leaving, he spoke at a news conference, telling reporters that he's thrilled to be alive

Emmanuel Onu (pictured above) was the only person who died in the Lagos boat explosion which happened on Friday August 15th. The boat, belonging to Aquitien Oil and Gas, was said to have taken off from V-Craft Jetty in Lekki and was heading towards Apapa be­fore it exploded around Walter Carrington Way, trapping all 10 persons on board. 9 people were injured and taken to different hospitals in Lagos

The Public Relations Of­ficer of the National Emer­gency Management Agen­cy (NEMA) said the boat engine exploded while it was trying to refill gasoline at Capital Oil Jetty at Victoria Island.

Emmanuel's body was recovered from the water shortly after the accident. His service of songs will hold today around 5 at his Lagos residence. He will be buried tomorrow Aug. 22nd at Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos.

Four more Ebola patients discharged – Minister

Four more patients, who had been undergoing treatment for the Ebola virus disease, were on Monday discharged from the Lagos treatment centre, after they had been certified free of the disease.

The Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, who disclosed this in a statement by  his Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Mr. Dan Nwomeh, said those discharged included three medical personnel and a female patient.

He said the medical personnel  included  two male medical doctors and one female nurse.

R. Kelly is an ungrateful tightwad – Formal Manager

Derrel McDavid has been R. Kelly’s manager for decades and have been instrumental in R. Kelly’s carrier surge from 0 to 100.

Kelly and McDavid parted company last year based on mutual consent but on terms that Kelly would pay McDavid $1.3 million –  According to McDavid ”Kelly made the initial $300K payment, but the deal called for additional $40K a month payments for 18 months and he hasn’t received a cent”.
McDavid was so pissed that he has this to say about the ”thong thong thong” crooner ”R. Kelly is an ungrateful tightwad who screwed over the guy who made him a star ”

When Kenneth Jarecke photographed an Iraqi man burned alive, he thought it would change the way Americans saw the Gulf War. But the media wouldn’t run the picture.

The Iraqi soldier died attempting to pull himself up over the dashboard of his truck. The flames engulfed his vehicle and incinerated his body, turning him to dusty ash and blackened bone. In a photograph taken soon afterward, the soldier’s hand reaches out of the shattered windshield, which frames his face and chest. The colors and textures of his hand and shoulders look like those of the scorched and rusted metal around him. Fire has destroyed most of his features, leaving behind a skeletal face, fixed in a final rictus. He stares without eyes.

Pope Francis: I could quit like Benedict or even die by 2017

Pope Francis has suggested that he might one day resign the papacy like his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI did last year, which would make him the second consecutive Pope to do so after almost 600 years. He said this yesterday Aug. 18th while speaking with reporters on his way back to Rome after his state visit to South Korea.

"Some theologians may say this is not right, but I think this way. Let us think about what [Benedict XVI] said, "I have gotten old, I do not have the strength", it was a beautiful gesture of nobility, of humility and courage. But you could say to me, if you at some time felt you could not go forward, I would do the same."

Asked about his immense popularity, the Pope, 77, joked that he would probably die in the next 2/3 years so should not get too proud:

A private autopsy of late Ferguson teen, Michael Brown has revealed that he was shot at least 6 times, including 2 to the head.

The New York Times reported that the autopsy by Dr. Michael Baden, a former New York City chief medical examiner, found that one of the bullets entered the top of Michael Brown’s skull, suggesting that his head was bent forward when he suffered a fatal injury.

Jackie Chan’s Son Arrested For Marijuana Possession

Jaycee Chan, son of popular martial arts actor Jackie Chan, has been arrested for marijuana possession.

Jaycee Chan, 32, and his Taiwanese movie star friend Kai Ko, 23, were both detained by police after more than 3.5ounces of marijuana were found at Jaycee’s home.

Chinese police confirmed they found the drugs at Jaycee’s home and said the two arrested also tested positive for marijuana use.

Jaycee has had several run-ins with his father over the years and in 2011, Jackie Chan said he would not be leaving his fortune to his son upon his death, but donating it to charity in order to force his son to earn his own money.

The pair’s arrest is the latest in a series of crackdowns by Beijing police on celebrity drug use.
