Michael Fassbender To Play Steve Jobs In New Biopic As Universal Takes Over

Universal has purchased the rights for Aaron’s Sorkin‘s biopic on Steve Jobs for $30 million.

To be directed by Danny Boyle, the movie will now star Michael Fassbender as the legendary Apple co-founder.

The role previously belonged to Christian Bale when the project belonged to Sony.

Seth Rogen is suggested to be in the frame to play Jobs’ Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

As the Big Brother Hotshots show gradually winds down, Big Brother is not relenting in providing fun filled activities for the housemates even though some are more tasking than the Hotshots envisaged. O'Neil waived his anonymity recently and agreed to sit down with Fox News later this month to talk about his life and that operation that finally brought some peace to America and its allies.

The World's Second Strongest man Rob Kearney has come out as gay. In a message he posted on his Facebook page recently, Rob, 25, introduced his boyfriend as his man candy, writing;

President Obama Disses Michael Jordan

In an interview with Ahmad Rashad, Jordan was asked to name his dream foursome, and he threw shade at Obama.

“I’ve never played with Obama but I would,” said Jordan. “But no, that’s okay, I’d take him out. He’s a hack, it would be all day playing with him.”

When questioned by Rashad, who has played golf with Obama, who typically shoots in the 90s, Jordan quipped, “I never said he wasn’t a great politician, I’m just saying he’s a sh***y golfer.”

The president responded saying he’d be better if he played more, and asked Jordan to mind his own basketball business.

“[T]here is no doubt that Michael is a better golfer than I am,” Obama said. “Of course if I was playing twice a day for the last 15 years, then that might not be the case.”

Singer Marc Anthony is engaged to model Shannon De Lima, and is set to get married this month.
Anthony’s marriage to De Lima will be his 3rd, after previous marriages to Dayanara Torres and Jennifer Lopez.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, October 30, 2014 arraigned an undergraduate of the University of Benin, Kenneth Rukewe Ebule before Justice E. F Ikponmwen of an Edo State High Court, sitting in Benin- City on a 6- count charge bordering on forgery, obtaining money by false pretence and possession of fraudulent documents.The accused person allegedly duped Sabine Albert, a German, of the sum of $12, 088, 75 through fraudulent claims.

Rukewe, 30, a final year student of Computer and Statistics at the University of Benin, was arrested by officials of a new generation bank on May 28, 2014 in Benin City and handed over to the EFCC for further investigation.

Y'all know that Santa Claus used in a lot of Coca-Cola adverts? Well, he has died. His name was John Moore and he was the famous "Father Christmas" who inspired Coca Cola’s character and appeared in many ads for the brand. He died recently at the age of 86 and is being buried today in Burgess Hill, Sussex,UK.

JAMB Warns Students: “Register At Cyber-Cafe & Face The Consequence”

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), on Thursday, warned prospective candidates in the forthcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in Nasarawa State, to stop registering at cyber-cafes, saying majority of the operators are fraudulent.

It, therefore, announced Federal University, Lafia; Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa; as well as Biham University, Karu and Ejade Computer Training Institute, New-Nyanya ,as four approved computer-based centres in the state for 2014 UTME.
The administrative officer in charge of the board in the state, Shehu Salihu, who stated this in Lafia, then warned the operators of the cyber-cafes in the state, who had made fraud their daily routine to, henceforth, desist from such act or face the music.

Mali records 1st case of Ebola after 2yr old girl contracts the disease

 

 Mali has recorded its first case of Ebola after a 2 year girl who had come into the country from Guinea, one of the worst hit with the Ebola epidemic, came down with fever and was diagnosed with the deadly virus yesterday October 23rd.

Confirming the development, Malian Health Minister, Ousmane Kone, said the girl is undergoing treatment now and is responding to treatment...

 

"The condition of the girl, according to our services, is improving. Thanks to her rapid treatment"

J.K. Rowling To Release New Harry Potter Story On Halloween

Good news for Harry Potter fans, there’s a new story coming out!

Author J.K. Rowling will be releasing the new story on the 31st of October, coinciding with the Halloween holiday.

The new 1,700-word tale will be a back story to the life of malicious pink-wearing Hogwarts professor, Dolores Umbridge, and will be published for free on Rowling’s website Pottermore.com.

Umbridge, who was played by Imelda Staunton in the films, was first seen in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She is a witch who was Senior Undersecretary to the Minister for Magic and tortured Harry before being sentenced to life in Azkaban for her crimes against Muggle-borns.

BBA Hotshots: Samantha and Ma’m Bea in trouble

It seems the visit of Clint Brink to the Big Brother house has somehow set Samantha and Ma’m Bea on a collision course with Biggie. Earlier in the day yesterday, Clint took the housemates through a trust exercise during which he explained the need to listen and trust one another during performances and generally since they are in the same house. During the exercise, Clint had asked the housemates to get into pairs which took a bit of time to achieve clearly indicating that there were trust issues amongst the housemates. Sheillah had to partner with Clint due to the fact that there are 21 hotshots left in the house. Housemates were required to close their eyes and be led around by their partner.

Google Vice-President Skydives From The Stratosphere!

A Google executive set a new world record for the farthest skydive as he jumped from a balloon near the top of the stratosphere!
Alan Eustace, 57, is a senior vice-president at Google, and at dawn he was lifted by a balloon filled with 35,000 cubic feet of helium from an abandoned runway at the airport in Roswell, New Mexico.
For a little over two hours, the balloon ascended at speeds up to 1,600 feet per minute to an altitude of more than 25 miles. Eustace dangled underneath in a specially designed spacesuit with an elaborate life-support system. He returned to earth just 15 minutes after starting his fall.

 15 year old Jaylen Fryberg (pictured above), a member of the Tulalip Native-American tribe, entered his school cafeteria yesterday morning around 10.41 am, walked over to a table, pulled out a gun and shot five students. He killed one, injured four, who are in critical condition at the hospital, and then he took his own life by shooting himself in the head with his father's gun.

Well, five housemates have so far been evicted from this year’s Big Brother Africa Hotshots show and as another week is here, two or more housemates will probably follow suit and leave the house. Melissa Rivers has reportedly inherit most of her late mother, Joan Rivers’ property.
The report comes days after the cause of death of the late comedian was revealed.
Melissa will inherit $75 million in cash and Joan’s French-inspired $35 million condo on New York’s Upper East Side, according to Us Weekly. Her son Cooper, 13, has received his own bequest.
The windfall doesn’t do much to ease Melissa’s loss, as a source to the magazine, “It’s no consolation for losing her mother so soon.”

 Relief came for a blind teacher, Mary Ihekanacho on Wednesday October 22, 2014 as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, presented her with a draft of N550, 000 which the anti- graft agency recovered from a gang of fraudsters that swindled her of N 830,000 in a job scam. 

The syndicate conned the woman by promising to facilitate her son’s employment with one of the oil majors.

Father Abandoned Children In A Boarding School For 8 Years

Three children are crying for their parents who abandoned them in a boarding school in Abule-Iroko in the Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State for eight years.
According to Punch report, the children Seun Adepegba 14, Seyi 10 and Titilola 13, were enrolled by their father, Mr Segun Adepegba at the Solid Model College in 2007.

Total's chairman/CEO Christophe de Margerie dies in plane crash

 

 Christophe de Margerie, the Chairman and CEO of giant oil company, Total, died in plane crash last night October 20th in Russia. He was 63.

According to a statement released by airport authorities early this morning, de Margerie's private plane collided with a snowplow on the runway of Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow as it was accelerating for takeoff just a few minutes before midnight. They also said in the statement that the driver of the snowplow was intoxicated. The business jet's three crew members also died.

The chief executive who was based in Paris, France had gone t to Russia to attend a meeting of corporate executives with Prime Minister Dmitri A. Medvedev and was returning to Paris when the accident occurred. He is survived by a wife and children. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

Paris: Total confirms with deep regret and great sadness that Chairman and CEO Christophe de Margerie died just after 10pm (Paris time) on October 20 in a private plane crash at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow, following a collision with a snow removal machine. Four people were found dead at the scene of the accident, including three crew member and Christophe de Margerie. The thoughts of the management and employees of the Group go out to Christophe de Margerie’s wife, children and loved ones as well as to the families of the three other victims.
